I know their are many of you who have visited this museum.I finally made it there last week.I was not dissapointed all those warbirds we're incredible.Had lunch at the canteen food was good. But all that history of those planes. When i climbed into the cockpit of the CF-100 i could get a better understanding of what it was like flying one of these birds. The tight quarters inside was unbelieveable. You could only imagine what it was like being in this aircraft for a few hours or longer. You have to have alot of respect for the pilots that flew these marvels.Take your camera! you will want to take pictures. There is so much to see! When you feast your eye's on the beautiful langcastor bomber all i can say is wow!!! So many aircraft to see and my all time favorite the F-86 sabre. Then to top off the trip head to the gift shop and get some goodies.Absolutely amazing.

Michel,

Located in Mount Hope , ON. Just south west of Hamilton. It is on the Hamilton International Aiorport.

Check it out..... http://www.warplane.com/

This is a FLYING Musem. Over half of the a/c they have on display are airworth and fly reularly. We see them around our R/C field regularly.

Their Crown Jewelis one of only 3 remaining airworth Lancaster Bombers inthe worl, Spits, Harvards, Canso, Firefly, Anson..... the list goes on.

It's a Candy Store for aviation enthusiasts!

The Lancaster was in Calgary last summer, saw it flying over downtown and then went to see it at the airport. There are actually only two airworthy Lancasters left, the other one is in Britain, flew over Buckingham Palace after William and Kates wedding in the spring.

Re: warplane heritage museum

They have began restoration on another Lancaster at the Downsview Airforce Base. This is also were they keep the 1-1 scale model of the Arrow. I believe the Lank that there working on, used to sit on a podium on Toronto's water front. Dont know if its intended to fly, But its better than selling it for scrap.

Re: warplane heritage museum

I fly my models at a private site located a safe distance from the Canadian War Plane museum and Hamilton Airport but close enough that we can see the planes coming and going. It is not unusual to see a War Plane or two in the air doing practice runs or what have you while we are flying our models. Seeing and hearing them makes for an enjoying time at our flying field.

Yep it's the FM104 that was on pedestal at Lakeshore for over 40 years..

Nops CASM's Lanc will never fly again, it's being fully restored for static display or it may have 1 or 2 of its engines running to taxi around but then this is stretching to max.....
