I am sorry to have to tell everyone this but Martin john Petre has passed away suddenly today. He passed peacefully in his sleep. I know this is not the best way to tell everyone but his life was all about this hobby. I hope everyone can remember some of the lighter side or his personality. He was already gearing up for the 2011 season and was looking forward to seeing everyone again.

Martin was a great guy, a great racer and a dear friend. I've know him since I was 15. I first raced against him at Rattlesnake Speedway. We had some great races over the years and the last one at the HobbyShow..and it was a great race as well..Thanks Martin for the great racing and being a good friend. You will be missed

My heart goes out to Martin`s family and you Derek, we are shocked and so sad to here this news.

I spent New Years day afternoon at Martin`s helping him fine tune his new vac former, we pulled a couple 8th scale bodies, we were pretty excited !

Martin was a brilliant person and a true gentleman, our team will never be the same.

See You in the "A" main Martin, thanks for all the good times, just not this one.

WTF?

This is terrible news.

I only met Martin this summer. In the short time knowing him, he left a lasting impression on me. He took me aside more then a few times to give me great advice and pointers on how to help Average Joe's grow.

He knew me for 10 minutes and he was willing to share stories with me that you save for friends of a life time.

I have never lost anyone close to me. I consider Martin the first.
