Re: Futaba 7Channel Receivers

Not sure , but if you were looking for a 7 channel for your Futaba it would be much more worth your time to try and find a Berg7 receiver. It was by far superior to the Futaba receivers. That is from experience with my Futaba 7UAP radio I had. Others that used the Berg will vouch for that, I am sure.

Re: Futaba 7Channel Receivers

I'll second the Bergs. I used them for years and they are far superior to the legacy gear in dimensions, performance and sensitivity.

If possible, try and grab a PC link as you can use that to assign any channel to any output, as well as set failsafe positions.

If desperate I may be convinced to sell one of my extras...........

What channel are you running?

Re: Futaba 7Channel Receivers

Walter , forgot to mention that Castle Creation discontinued the Berg7 and that was only because of the 2.4 being in the forefront for radio control. If you plan on staying with 72 , I would take Gary up on his offer. Channel crystals may still be available . Next step would be to scour the Internet for more as they are vastly superior to any 72 MHz receiver on the market.

Re: Futaba 7Channel Receivers

My only complaint with them was the limit of 7 channels!

Great Hobbies still sells Berg crystals:

Re: Futaba 7Channel Receivers

Good to know about the crystals as they were mini ones compared to others , if I remember correctly. Yes it was too bad that it wasn't available say a 10 channel but guess 7ch were popular back then and the 10 or more became more popular with the 2.4's

Re: Futaba 7Channel Receivers

Not sure about that. I have 9 and 10 channel 72 MHz based systems, (that I can switch to 2.4 by swapping modules).

Sometimes the issue came from the fact once above 8 channels a lot of them were not proportional.

Re: Futaba 7Channel Receivers

Probably true as back then transmitter and channel numbers were not flexible like today when some radio systems allow you to assign any channel to a function , making them all proportional or switchable; depending on what they are assigned. I guess that is progress.
