Switches..

Hey guys,

Just wondering what everyone thoughts are on them. This weekend i had my first switch failure on my nitro truggy and was fortunate to have a friend on hand with a spare to use.

Someone had said due to swtich failures that's why he does not use them, He just has the batter plug out of the box and plugs in the battery when he wants it on and off.

Just wondering if there are any issues with this? Or is it common for switches to go bad?

It is not very common for a switch to fail unless you do not have a boot or it is a cheap switch.

A good switch is the jr one ( no. Jrpa003). Myself and Dave Henry have been using these switches for the last few years. Also most pro drivers use these switches.

Running the battery connector outside of the radio box is not a very good idea because they may get hit or be pulled apart by flex in the chasis.

You can still have issues without a switch. My buddy missed his main yesterday because the positive wire broke in the connector to his battery. He had no switch and just plugged in direct.I still prefer to run a switch. When I ran 1/10 I used to cut my switches off the esc but the switches on those were usually really small and broke much easier.

Cool,

I will look at them. I was using the spectrum one i guess it was that came with the Losi 8ight RTR. Never had an issue until i swapped battery packs with a Lipo for the last Qual.
