Why won't the tank empty????

Hi Guys,
i recently bought a used FuntanaX 20cc gasser. With an electric fuel pump I am able to fill the gas tank, but for some reason when i reverse the switch on the fuel pump the tank won't empty.
I tried the same fuel pump on my other gasser and low and behold NO problem at all it fills up and also empties.... so what gives???

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you in advance for your valued input.

Balbir

Re: Why won't the tank empty????

Is there by any chance a one way valve installed in the fuel line causing the pump to not be able to pump?? Or it's not vented so it's pulling the tank into a vacuum? Couple off the top of my head?

Re: Why won't the tank empty????

Probably filling thru the vent which pulls air when trying to empty.

Re: Why won't the tank empty????

I tried to empty it through the overflow fuel line as well but that didn't work

Re: Why won't the tank empty????

Isn't the overflow the same as a vent line ?... Try the line from the fuel pickup.

Re: Why won't the tank empty????

yes both the overflow and the vent line are the same, i tried both the vent line and the fill line, finally i just unplugged the fuel dot, turned the plane upside down and empty it straight into the gas container - i guess i will have to take out the fuel tank and re-check the lines - its ok its raining in TO so good time to check it out now...... thanks for your help.
