My Slick is currently getting retrofitted for my Mintor 220 and will come in around 43 - 43.5 lbs and will be maidened in a few weeks off of skiis, so it will be a great test to see how the Slick reacts to the extra 4lbs vs DA150. If the Slick can handle the weight, your 43% Extra will be a floater, due to the size difference (especially due to the increased wing surface area - not shown yet!) Cheers Trev |

No.. in all honesty, the last house we were in was small and I just got into the habit of cleaning up after each cut or step. Even though I`ve got lots of space now, I`ve almost become a little OCD towards cleaning! If I forgot about the cleaning, I`d have 2 of these 43%`s built by now!! |

Took a break on the honey-do list tonight to finish up the fuse striping...

Also got the rudder finished off.
Like the stabs, once the servos are installed in the Durant boxes, I'll seal off the hinge line. |

Re: 126" Carden Extra 300 - BBT - Build Thread
The latest testing results on the DA200s show that you can gain 100-200rpm if you shorten the headers and get the coupler to start just after the flex joint. This takes off about 1.5".
You can see the before and after. There's still about 1/4" between the flex and coupler, but I didn't want to go too close in fear of breaking a weld, etc. The only problem is that the rear canister mount is now too far back - time to move it forward!! Oh, and because we changed the colour scheme, the red on the bottom was removed and it will become white after a few more mods! |

Re: 126" Carden Extra 300 - BBT - Build Thread
So, I managed to get the canister mount out with hardly a scratch and moved it forward about 1 1/2" so that is was centered under the LG plate (will also add significant strength to the LG area).
After a sealing with some finishing resin, we're back in business!! Onto the belly mods, before I recover the belly! |
