What kind of soft you can recommend to buy for training in case if I would like to use (connect) my transmitter Spectrum DX5E.

I have tried few of them, but no one recognize my transmitter.
I used USB connection.

I load free trial, better try before that buy wrong.
I am not looking very expensive and sophisticated.
I will flight on plane.

Thanks for advice.

Re: Advice regarding RC flight simulator.

The new version of Phoenix ( 2.5 ?) will work with most TX's and is sold in a package with the DX5.

Without the TX it's $140 or so (includes USB connection) and is quite good IMO. Good user interface, runs and loads fast. Sounds are aweful though, but not a big deal. Nice feature is being to retain ground view at all times, helps with orientation.

Hope this helps.

Re: Advice regarding RC flight simulator.

imo - phoenix is the way to go for helis, but not as good for airplanes. RF is great for fixed wing, but not great for helis.

If you don't care about the physics, and just want something cheap to learn orientation, then go to your LHS, buy a cable, and download FMS for free. Just google "FMS flight sim" and you'll have no trouble finding it.

I tried FMS, loaded from site.

How does it not work? You mean the software won't even run? Any error messages? No reason it shouldn't work afaik..

Re: Advice regarding RC flight simulator.

IF none of the sims you have tried work for you, perhaps you should be looking at a computer upgrade or at least a newer video card and perhaps some more RAM.

Seems very strange that even the simplest Flight Sim, re. FMS, will not work for you. I would suspect that it is perhaps your computer, maybe a conflict some where in your system.

I purchased Pheonix and I love it! For Helis and Airplanes, I think it is one of the best sims on the market. AND once you buy it, any upgraded versions are free for online download for life! ALSO, you can download new aircraft and flying sites for free directly from the Pheonix website as well as 3rd party software for free.

Re: Advice regarding RC flight simulator.

If it isn't your computer, then what is it? FMS runs okay on everybody else's computers... Why not yours? If you're having trouble with FMS, then who's to say you won't have trouble with any of the others.

Sounds very much like some sort of system issue to me.

Re: Advice regarding RC flight simulator.

If you buy realflight you wont have to worry about the transmitter being the problem. Older versions (ie 3.5 ) are pretty cheap these days, and work pretty good, especially if you know computers and can trun off some of the resource intesive graphics on RF
