Can a futaba R6014FS (12 ch) be used in place of a 617FS (7 ch). I need another 7 channel receiver and have come across this 12 channel for sale. Are they swapable?

Re: Futaba Receivers

The Futaba 6014 FASST Rx has 14 channels and can be used in place of the 617FS when used with a Futaba 14 MZ Tx. However, I assume that you aren't using the 14 MZ. I was intrigued with this question and couldn't find the answer on Futaba's FAQs section of their site. There maybe someone here with experience with this combo; otherwise contact their tech support:

You must be able to find a new 6014 for less than a 617?? New 6014 go for around $100 while the 617 goes for around $65 shipped.

Re: Futaba Receivers

Depends on your radio!

The 6014fs is the older version, the one that had a heat issue, if it has a gold dot on it then it should be fine, if not then I might look for the 7 ch. The newer 6014hs is $199 from GH.

I use the HK 8 channel on all my electric and glow 46 size and smaller and have had no issues, in fact no one that I know of has had a problem with them.
