Re: When to know fuel turn bad?

as long as it stays in a cool dark place it keeps for a long time ,I have run fuel over 5 years old ,worst case it looses it's nitro and the motor runs like crap, look in the bottom of the fuel bottle if there are little white things, that is moisture contamination ,toss it if that happens.

PS: but if your worried about it you can send the blue thunder to me to check for ya LOL.just kidding I am sure it will be fine .

+1

For many other opinions, here is something recent:

Sunlight and moisture seems to be the primary concerns.

If the engine starts, use it !
I've kept fuel for more than 2 years ( unopened ) and it worked fine ..

Re: When to know fuel turn bad?

My son gave me a PARTIAL (3/4) jug of fuel he had sitting around. It had the internal plastic cap in place, and the outer screw cap on it. It had been stored in his garden shed where it gets very hot in the summer. So hot that the bottle was venting fumes past the seals. When it cooled off, the inner seal reseated and the bottle partially collapsed on itself. It sat there for at least six years.

I put it in my engines and used it all. Ran just fine, thank you very much. Saved me about 15 bux on fuel!

Re: When to know fuel turn bad?

I had 2 gallons in my basement for 10 years when I took a sabbatical from RC for a while. When I got back in 10 years ago, I used them up the first summer with no problem at all.

Regards,

Dennis
