Foamie Plans: Blu-BC12D Taylorcraft
Another simple build using 1/4" FFF (Blue-Cor)...
It's a scale version of the BC-12D Taylorcraft. I built this plane as an alternative to HZ Supercub. It's very similar in dimensions but weighs less... under 20oz. This is a very relaxing to fly 4ch plane. It flies very well on aileron and elevator alone and does not require rudder to produce co-ordinated turns. This is also a good plane for a pilot who has experience with 3ch RET planes and wants to progress to an aileron trainer. The KFM2 wing is very forgiving of stalls and the low wing loading makes for very slow flight and good glide characteristics. It's not very aerobatic, but loops and barrel rolls are possible with practice. Motor: 1.5 - 2oz 400 class brushless outrunner (100-120Watts), 900-1100kv. ie: Infinite 2209-1160, Suppo A2212/15 Battery: 1200-1500mAh 3S Lipo Servos: 4x9g (HXT900, HS-55, SG90) UBEC: A UBEC is strongly recommended when using amp hungry SG90 or HXT900 servos.
