rc cam and others, most cars with a reasonable amount of line and 1 fuel filter will pass, lots of line or 2 filters probably not, most manufacturers tanks are slightly undersized so you can run an external filter to make up the difference

on the losi buggy/truggy if you leave in the preinstalled white nylon spacer in the tank you can run an external filter, but you are better off to remove the internal filter and simply run the tubing directly to the carb without an external filter, it keeps the chassis less cluttered than other cars and the stock tank is built like an aircraft tank, the internal filterred fuel pickup follows the fuel so if you crash and are upside down it will continue to draw fuel until the tank runs empty!

that's true the ae tank has an internal filter too also i wanted to remove the nylon spacer. less fuel tubbing, less mess, direct to the carb and will keep running. Sounds good to me. Also i can't i do the same for the exhaust tubbing? Tekno.

i have never had a setup (car/engine) combo that needed a long exhaust line to tune properly, i have seen many people with huge lines but they are not neccesary

we use to run a single coil in the pressure line a long time ago when the line was attatched to the tank at a point where it was lower and closer to the front of the tanks, you could actually lose a little fuel during long heavy braking at the end of a long straight when the tank was full, not an issue on any tanks anymore though (that was one of the changes made to the kyosho tanks many years ago after feedback from the team guys....like me!)

a shorter pressure line is better for tuning too. the lower the tank gets, the leaner it will become. a longer pressure line exagerates this.

official dumb question

I run a filter in my pressure line just to keep an crap out of the tank. Is this ok? Obviously it doesn't hold any fuel.

I run a new filter every season on the fuel line and clean my old filter that was on the fuel line and install on pressure line.

I had 2 tech inspections fron glorcs in the last 2 years and nothing was said at that time.

thanks guys on the info above. im only going to be farting around with an rtr with a couple of upgrades, one of them being a fuel filter. when i was bashing around with my truck before it would rool over and stall instantly, but after i put the filter i will run upside down for a wile before it stalls. but i dont have a rediculous amount of fuel line in it so that good to know. im planning on getting the mugen mbx5 buggy in the summer and if i enjoy the offroad racing next year i will prob get myself a nice racing truggy as well. its good to see on here that everyone is so helpfull to guys like me that are just getting into the sport. thanks again

ruffmt- we are talking about the fuel line to the carb, you can do whatever you want between the pipe and tank

rc-cam- sounds like your setup will be just fine, keep having fun and come by and say hello if you come out to a race
