is there a side to side comparison btw floater and easystar.

I feel my floater is quite good very begining, it is just not that durable as my technic is.

Easy star seems to have bulkier head to take crash, but not sure how much it can goes.

Easystar hands down the better plane. Put a good brushless motor in it. Floater Jet not so good.

Re: AXN floater vs Easystar

My two cents

I have a EZ glider and a AXN floater jet. They are both great but are so different. I have never had EZ star so I will not contributing any info to that side. I have done many crashes and smashes with the FJ it is very durable but we have made one modification: I run the 2200mah battery and have had the thing come through the nose causing damage to it in a crash. The fix: Cut a deperon bulkhead and fit it and glue it to the fuselage nose compartment equipment bay then place battery in plastic bag install in nose battery compartment. Fill nose with expanding foam product let set trim excess. Extra cooling can be added by punching holes in the canopy.

Cheep, cheep, cheep....

Everyone should have one

Why I never bought the EZ star: No ailerons, no BL motor, small rudder

Jerry...how are the floater jet motors holding up for you? We have been having problems with ours.

I've been lucky, no issue with mine. Are you having issue with the magnet? I have been checking mine. I guess you just epoxy it back down.

Funny thing happen last month, we were dog fighting first hit took my prop off. I had to glide home. My buddy landed and we found my prop damage but stuck in the side of the fuselage. Second dog fight hit lost the motor, it broke clean off. I hot glued her back on good as new.

I still running the same 20 amp ESC, motor, and servos.

On the two cameras ship 25amp ESC, stock motor with 6X4 prop no issue. My friend lost a motor but after extreme abuse.

Re: AXN floater vs Easystar

I agree with eyeinsky, when I am doing my new EZ*, I added seafoam block to the front of battery to avoid internal strike. (an airbag)

The difficult part is when I epoxy it on, the foam became very crispy. I did a perfect bulthead fixing to my FJ, but it just break at the "neck", and leave head intact.

BTW, where did you buy good quality foam to model a bulk head.

Re: AXN floater vs Easystar

On the Camera ship I fill the entire nose with foam. The bulkhead is just made from meat packing trays glued in just aft of the battery compartment then filled the rest with spray can foam insulation.
