pull motor and electronics.
spray with simple green or super clean
soak for 5 mins
spray with hose
blow it off with air
soak with wd 40 or silicon spray. silicon is great
blow that off and im done

i just use a damp/soapy paper towel but in the winter a 15 min run in the snow will clean things up nicely

baby wipes

Yes Baby wipes work very well for all the grime...I use them for my hands after any wrenching. they work well for the bodys too.

I also use baby wipes, they are good for the finishing touch`s, i would`nt use them for heavy dirt, that would be just a waste of time. When there done, you can use the case for part`s or what ever !!
