Glow or gas?

Hello i am looking at a 24% extra 300L http://aero-works.net/store/detail.aspx?ID=192

recomends "Engine .90 to 1.20 2 stk. or 1.20 to 1.40 4 stk."

of corse i plane to use this as my first 3D/Imac plane that will hopeuflly get many many enjoyably hourse on it thus i would like to know, IS there a small gas mottor that would be more logical then glow I know going gas would cost me more in the biggingin but with a a bit of time i think it would pay for itself in money savings in fuel (i fond glow EXPENSIF)

Steven

BTW if i posted this in the wrong place im sorry

Then I would recomend spending more upfront and get a 30% with a 50cc purpose built gas motor. By purpose built I mean something like:
BME
DA
3W
Taurus (cause Manny says LOL)
etc...
While Zenoha makes very fine motors they cannot match the performance of the motors mentioned.

Yes you can stick a 50cc in something like a h9 260/ GP yak but it is not worth the few hundred bucks to get a proper airframe for a 50cc
There are a ton of great planes from companies like:

Aeroworks
Aerotech
Wildhare
Model aviation (or whatever it's called now)
BME (or whatever its called now)
Comp Arf
ETC, ETC, ETC

see the thing is 30% would be AWSOME but lets face it im 14 years old and i cant work (recovering from operation) so when an extra 300L 24% is offered to be for about 50 USD its the kind of thing were yes it may not be ideal BUT its what i can afford..

I hope you are O.K. and I wish you a speedy recovery.

Unfortunately you are between a rock and a hard place.

Gas will be very heavy. Very heavy is bad.

Glow will be light. Glow is more expensive.

A Moki 1.8 may be a good choice as they run on 0-5% nitro. I have a Moki 2.1 and I have pleased with it's lower than expected fuel consumption. Not as cheap as gasoline but I had one and put it in a h9 260. It is a very good combo. I get about 12 - 14 flights per gallon.

Well the G38 is going to weigh 5 lbs with battery and mufflers. A Saito 180 weighs less than half that amount. This is a massive weight penalty!!
You will end up with a snappy brick unable to do any 3d but hover. In the end it is of coarse up to you. I personally would never even consider a gas motor.
