One other thing; I am not aware of any regulations in reguards to what you can and can not do to yor transmitters ie chrystals and antennas. My understanding is that as long as you are operating in a designated frequency band and below a certain wattage the things are pretty much unregulated. It is when you try to boost the power levels above the minimum that you become regulated. I know the regulations re Amature Radio Service better than that regulations that cover the RC frequencies so this is just my view and not Gosple

I have emailed the fine Gent at Maac in regards to the whip antenna... bit of a grey area for us to but, it sounds like the use of the whip antenna is not favoured by MAAC.... In order to use and heaven forbid be insured in case of an accident the manufacturer must have the radio certified with the rubber duck antenna......... not something that any of the manufactures want to deal with..... I wanted to continue my conversation with the maac rep asking if I could have a certified person (radio tech, or ham operator etc) perform the upgrade for me but, I figured I better just quit while I was ahead......... I would like very much to use one still........ 25.00 US for the kit and 5.00 for shipping....... I just can't do it without consent....not fair for me or the other members at the local club...
not that anyone else is bad for using one.......just me
