Wow...I'm impressed...is it a complicated build? How hard is it to fly?
Kyle, maybe we can connect sometime, I would be very interested to see it in action.

It was a very easy build. Setting up the control module and reprogramming the esc's was the hardest part. It flies like a heli. I'm not the best heli pilot but I'll fly it like a plane with googles on.

Re: Gaui 330X quadcopter: Onboard in the Rain!

Hey Brian, Thanks for sharing the video's. I can see why the legs are in the shot, there all the way on the outside!! Wow.. mine are much closer in. I have been doing a lot of playing around with the Gaui and am pleased to say there is some fun stuff coming very soon, including a bunch of random stuff I was doing while using the Gaui to shoot ariel footage for an independent film called "Lloyd the Conqueror". I have not had issues with the Gaui in the shots yet, but I do hang my camera very far forward, and counter balance it with a 2250 45c 3 cell battery. Needless to say the weight makes it very stable.

Let me know how the FPV setup goes for you. Im curious to know if it is worth it.
Im disappointed that Gaui has been so secretive with the GPS unit. The rep has assured me a late November release, but it would be nice to know something, or see something, so we know it actually exists.

Have fun
Kyle

Re: Gaui 330X quadcopter: Onboard in the Rain!

Mark. So sad that you couldn't make it out to the fly in this morning. It was a huge turn out. Had to be around 20 pilots of all ages and backgrounds and a lot of spectators! We had 5 plane combat, I flew the Habu which is always a crowd pleaser, small but extremely fast pylon racers, and even a few large heli's, one was a nitro heli from the mid 90's, hilarious, I havnt seen those things for ages. A bunch of us will be back at it next sunday if your interested. 11am. just south of the Grey Eagle Casino parking lot in the Tsuu Tina nation reserve.

Hope to see you then!

Kyle...I see that the Guai doesn't come with the longer supports for the use of the camera...did you have to order them separately?

Yeah Marc you do. The stock gear it comes with work fine, and I put heli skids on mine to make it a bit better, but the longer legs are definitely the way to go if your looking for a Camera mount. The longer legs are usually a part of a package with the camera mounts. I got mine from Infinity Hobby.

PS. this isnt a double post... ok maybe... heres my latest Gaui video

I've ordered the LG and camera mount from Infiniti and will be ordering the heli from Ken tomorrow...it's a chunk of money but there's no going back now.

Re: Gaui 330X quadcopter: Onboard in the Rain!

I was able to do an Indoor test flight to trim the Quad and check the stability of the camera shot. It's trimmed for hands free flight with it moving off very slowly. The camera shot worked out great, very stable. I'm going to use this mount in my final setup.
