British Columbia Anyone ever go from servos direct to swash on a 600?

I'm contemplating getting rid of the bellcrank and going direct from servo to swash. I think by increasing the servo travel it will increase the torque but may slow down the reaction time which for me would be good because I do very mild sport flying. Any thoughts and has anyone done this.

EDIT: misread ... I initially thought you were talking about direct from swash to fbl blade grips.

The biggest concern about going direct to swash initially is geometry. How will the geometry be if you go direct to swash from the servos?

It is flybarred and the link on an HK 600 at the bellcrank is about 5mm away from the servo arm.

Yup, for the same reasons.

And just for yucks I frame mounted the tail-rotor servo as well.

Hasn't flown yet as I just did this over this winter season, but setup was pretty much the same as with the bell-cranks.

Re: Anyone ever go from servos direct to swash on a 600?

Basically the servo arm is almost in line with the swash ball. I plan on using this on my 600 size MD500 that will have a four blade rotor if it works well on my flybarred 600

nairbg is that a HK600? If so I think it looks good and I will go ahead on doing it. Let me know how well it handles? I plan on doing that to mine tomorrow I hope it will omit any play that the bell cranks and extra linkage balls may have.

Sorry I missed the Align on the tail boom. I could get shot in other places for a mistake like that.

Hahaha... No sweat! It's a hybrid.... I rolled the Align 600e into a ball last fall so it has multi-sourced components, owing to the paucity of Align parts in Edmonton.

It should work fine.... even the 550e is direct linked from servo to swash.

I did one this winter, worked perfect.
Have a look at the pics.

There is another thread here from hitechflyer, he has recently done it as well.
