Ya - the weight was tough to swallow. When I was looking for a powerplant for the 58% Pitts, I was thinking 3W275CS. Then Gerhard got me onto some folks in Europe that were pulling out their 275's and putting in 220CS on KS pipes and getting a bit less power but smoother and a couple lbs lighter. That convinced me to go with the 220 and I wasn't disappointed.

But not many planes that can handle the big quad... a big Sukhoi like Jack's or that big 3.3M CARF or a big 126" Carden perhaps. But limited options without it feeling heavy.

I seriously have my eye on that MVVS190!!! I'd seriously consider one of those with one of those massive 42% Pilot Yak55M's

LOL... Trev, you would have been in balsa heaven today had you been with Andy and myself today.
We stopped in at Trillium balsa today.

10,000 sq/ft of balsa, balsa and more balsa.

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

Dale when you build your new Sukhoi definitely go with pipes. Mine looked so much better after removing the old cowl and mufflers to install the new cowl and RE3's. No more mister walrus as seen in the last pic of how it looked two years ago.

No, the wood wasn't ready His planer sander broke down on the weekend. Some stupid rubber grommet. Part is ordered and will be here Wed. Then he can cut all the sheeting. He is going to ship everything to me, hopefully by the end of the week.
As for the other boxes.1 more arrived Saturday in Lewiston, and another today. Still 2 outstanding, They are scheduled to be delivered tomorrow.
The plan is to go over Wednesday to pick them all up, if everything arrives tomorrow.

Will this be the build to watch?????? No...... Its just me building a plane

As the sands of time slip away, like time passing as the sand drains down in the hourglass.

It is either that Brad or hang out here.
