Another great deal on 50cc plane
Hi Guys,
Just found out another great deal of a Lanier 50cc ARF for CAD $260 only offer by Hiflight. Please see: http://www.hiflightrc.com/hiflight_clearance_items.pdf This is good for day to day flying.

Re: Another great deal on 50cc plane
Quite the deal ... IF you have an engine that will fit into the cowl. ??:
I had a look at the assembly instructions and they showed a 'SIDE' mounted carburator gas engine and a very tight fit ... If you have a DA 50 R the carb is mounted behind the engine and you require 2" of clearance to the firewall - same for the DL 50 - this aircraft is a stellar flier and a good deal - IF you have an engine that can fit. Check your specs before you write a cheque.

Re: Another great deal on 50cc plane
How about this GF50i?
only 5 3/4 " from firewall to prop hub. 27 lbs thrust 22 X 8 wood prop @ 6900rpm This is a $260 plane, just need a $260 gasser to match.

Re: Another great deal on 50cc plane
Yes; that engine would work in the Stinger, my only beef with the ad was the tittle that said "Perfect for a DA 50".
The DA 50 has the carburator on the rear of the engine and extra clearance is required - space that is not available on the Stinger. If someone had a DA 50 R and bought the Stinger on the strength of that AD without checking... they would not be happy... Other than that... the Stinger is a great plane, and it is a good price.
