Re: New top flite replica radial engine

Could you let me know what the distance from one cylinder head to the other side cylinder head would be.

Thanks

Re: New top flite replica radial engine

Ron

I was looking for the total diameter from one cylinder to the other side.

Re: New top flite replica radial engine

That was what I gave you.
It is 15mm from the top one cylinder head to the top of the opposing cylinder head

Re: New top flite replica radial engine

15 mm = 1.5cm * [1 inch/2.54 cm] =

0.59055 inches

Just over half and inch, I don't get it....

Re: New top flite replica radial engine

lol Top Flite puts out a couple of these, think they are 1/7th scale, and 1/8th scale, perhaps that's an easier way to look at it. Metric system sucks. They do look great, and he's absolutely right, the cooling baffle for the Top Flite P-47 and Sea Fury is critical. I recently ground ran my Sea Fury, with cowl, but no baffling, and the engine started to overheat immediately. Might as well have a nice looking radial covering the recommende ply baffle.

Re: New top flite replica radial engine

Follow-up, just confirmed, the Top Flite Radial kits are indeed 1/7th or 1 8th scale. The 1/7th will fit cowls of 6/5 to 7 inches diameter, the 1/8th fits cowls 5 1/2 to 6-1/4 inch diameter. Hope that helps.
