Hello guys,

I'm coming back to Toronto on 2nd May and will bring along this 2 helis mentioned. I'm just worried if I will have any trouble passing through the border services. I will ship my lipos tomorrow though just in case, because I have 6 6s 5000, and 4 7s 5000. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Are you still going to need a place to stay while passing through for SHAG?
Thanks very much Jeff! Yes, that's why I will ship all my lipos tomorrow before coming back. No issue is good, but do I need to declare them? I don't mind paying a bit rather than my stuff being taken lol. Not 100% sure yet if I need place to stay, my friend a bit shy, he might prefer hotel, but coming for sure!

how long were you in the US for. There are some sizable exemptions depending on time in the US. IF the stuff was purchased prior to going to the US it should have been looked at prior to exiting Canada to have it remain as a duty free item when you return. Lipos really should not be an issue if travelling by land. Air might be another issue but if you were to take precautions like pack them separtely from each other. or in a case wrapped independently.

Thanks, and sorry to let you misunderstand. I've been outside Canada for 6 months in Malaysia.

I'll find you a decent / reasonable hotel to stay in Winnipeg when you're ready. Just let me know.

He's actually coming home from Malaysia ...
I'm a permanent resident of Canada, it matters?

THink you have an $800 exemtion still then. Everything above that will be open to duty and tax. I have found it is best to be honest and open to answer the questions they ask. I have had severaltimes that I have been well ove rthe exemption ad have paid nothing. The 2 helis you are bringing back are of very high value so you may be paying something on them.

Thanks guys, sounds like there is some risk involved, the logo xxtreme i bought i used i dont know what to tell them. Will shipping everything to canada be a better option? I dont mind paying more for less problem.

Re: Coming back to Canada with a 7HV and Xxtreme 800, border concerns.

Hobby items like RC helicopters are not duty taxed as they are tariff free. What you will have to pay is the HST on them (on anything over your exemption) as you would have if you bought them in Canada. I can't remember how to find the file now but there's a hug document listing what items have to pay and what items don't have to pay a tariff.

It might be easier to ship the logo to yourself.

These are considered "toys" and are duty free. You'd only be paying the taxes.
Thanks very much. I paid by cash. Yes, I will ship both the 7hv, logo, and the lipos to myself, and just bring along transmitter, charger back to Canada to save the hustle.
