Re: Epoxy Paint Thinner

Ken,

When I ran out of either Petitt or K&B epoxy thinner, I used Klenks epoxy thinner, still available at Home Hardware.... perhaps as a special order:

http://www.homehardware.ca/en/rec/in...I1675404?Num=1

Also Pettit is still around and produces an epoxy thinner for epoxy paints used in boating...... called "97 epoxy thinner" and, according to their website, available at marine stores such Ontario Boat and Engine Works in Orangeville, tel. 519 942 4441.

And a couple of the big paint companies such as Benjamin More, etc., now have their own 'boutique' stores.... they won't have it on the floor but I've ordered specialized solvents that were in the company catalog thru such a store and it was delivered to the store in a couple of days.

Let us know what worked for you.

Re: Epoxy Paint Thinner

Michael Thanks for the info, will order some from Home Hardware. Forgot about Pettit boat products, will try them too.
Still like using the epoxy primers on glass fuselages and cowls.

Re: Epoxy Paint Thinner

I still use K&B, likely still have over 30 cans of various colours, and I use lacque thinners from Canadian Tire for around $20.00 a four litre can. I been doing this for years and have had no problem. You can also purchase lacque thinners at the auto supply place that mixes car paint, a little better quality, but a lot more expense.

Klasscote paint, is the same quality as K&B and Hobbypoxy use to be, and he will also mix to your chip. Nate has thinners also for this paint, but again I just use the stuff from Canadian Tire.

Re: Epoxy Paint Thinner

Robert (and Ken F.)

If Ken F., the original poster, doesn't want to take you up on your offer, I will buy all at your ask plus exact shipping.

Ken, also if you want to split Robert's offer, I'll do that as well.
(pm me on how to arrange; I'm not in urgent need of the thinner and am fine with meeting up at spring swap meet of the 905 Squadron/Aurora rc club)

Robert, give us a day or so to work this out.

thanks
