Re: Plane

Sweet little bird! Yes it definitely fits the "old timer" class. Is it a CG Playboy? It looks to me to be another modern downsized version of an old free flight for electric or 1/2A glow engine. I would guess anything from 80 to 120 watts would fly it nicely. You will have to be innovative to get all the gear forward enough to get it to balance without using a lot of lead as those old planes have a very short nose. Expect it to balance and fly properly with the CG as far back as 50% if it has a lifting tail.

I don't know what your flying style is but these old birds don't do well driven around the field as a sport plane. They are more of a "sit in a lawn chair and float around looking for thermals" kind of plane!

Enjoy!

Re: Plane

The brushless motor can always be spaced further forward to help minimise dead weight to balance. For the rudder try either a carbon pushrod or pull-pull cabling and keep servos as far as possible forward
