OK so I put a new speed control in a plane.push stick to throttle up, motor turns slowly before going to full rpm Not even sure its reaching full rpm. I will check output readings with watts-up this weekend and maybe try a tach also.

This slow speed has me puzzled though don't want to try and fly like that

Re: ESC andRPM

ESC is set to "soft start" used for Heli's and gearboxes to avoid ripping off gear teeth.
You need to change setting to "hard start"

Re: ESC andRPM

I agree with 1THEPALMER.

What ESC? CC Phoenix have a Super Soft Start which can take what seems forever to spool up.
