well i noticed that the mamba system for the 10th scale cars thats coming out is sensorless. while the current novak and lrp ones are sensored. i was just wondering what the difference is between having and not having the sensored system. also does anyone know when the mamba system is coming to canada?

Sensored and Sensorless.. basically, the sensor gives the ESC much more control of the motor, prevents "cogging" on acceleration.. a pause or "non-smooth" acceration ... and genreally gives the esc all information about the motor so it can control it better..

Go to your LHS and ask them to get you the mamba.. they should be able to get it now..

The advantage that sensored brushless is that they are a lot smoother accelerating. The sensorless have the advantage that they can take a lot more power, a lot of people run 5 cell lipo. All the sensored models I know of can only take maybe 8 cells. A lot of the sensorless designs can take 18-20 cells.

The one I am looking at for my buggy is the Quark Monster Pro125. The 125 is for 125A and handles 5-18 cells or 2-6 cell LiPo. Mind you this is a $320 cdn controller. Then you buy a Feigao 9XL motor and 5 cell LiPo battery. You then have a system that can power a buggy/truggy/monster truck into the 50-60mph range.

the smooth acceleration advantage has all but been eliminated with the newer sensorless controllers... i have an mtronics pro controller and fiego 380c 7t motor and i can't get that thing to cog no matter what...
