You have flaps on an IMAC plane? Or are your ailerons just split in half?

Haven't seen anyone do it.

How fast is your plane in a down-line?

What air-frame are you flying?

You fly Basic right?
This would be called mixing

Re: Scale Aerobatics/IMAC for Begginers!

Finally joined a club with another pilot interested in IMAC, we have been calling for each other. That helps a lot.

Some times when flying the routine we both end up to far from our self's. I just read about calling a "break" to get your self lined up again, I have never heard about this. I really do not care about the penalty but I also read it is not to much in basic but not such what it is. Just something for us beginners to keep in mind.

Yes you can call a break but you can also just eat the deductions so to speak and turn yourself back in to get on a closer line without a formal break. As you know there are no cross box maneuvers in Basic so you really should not be getting really far away unless the wind is blowing you out. Rudder, rudder, rudder.

The point is if you really get pushed out just angle back in to get lined up for the next maneuver. You may get a 3-4-5 point deduction for the track correction but you won't zero anything or get the break penalty even though it is small for Basic.

Save the breaks for when you get confused or really messed up.

Any chance of getting the links updated? Most of them are error 404, or are corrupted by the Chinese...

Hi Roger,

I posted this when I use to have Admin Rights on here and tried changing it a few times, unsuccessfully but I see I now can.

Just out in the garage working on resurrecting an old IMAC plane right now but I'll take a look at it tonight.

Re: Scale Aerobatics/IMAC for Begginers!

Jim, any word on when the new sequences for next year will be available? I know its a bit early but I'm tired of the 2020 sequences and want a new challenge. Lee was adding advanced pieces to the intermediate routine today to mix things up. Almost like a semi-unknown, and it was fun to fly.

Hey Brendan,

The Sequence committee has been working on them. Basic & Sportsman are with the Board Of Directors for Final approval and I believe INT is being submitted tomorrow. We are working on ADV next then UNL last. But for INT, ADV & UNL we have to do 2 KNOWNS as we have to have the ALT for each of those classes for the IMAC Contests that CAN'T have Rollers in them.

Is there a Snow Ball's chance in Hell of IMAC happening in the Socialist Republic of Canada this year. I was going to start the year Covid happened. then we have been shut out ever since. I do not see it working with our current licensing and altitude issues. Looking for any good news.

Hi Dale,

What Class were you going to start with? If BASIC you should be able to practice that within the current 400ft ceiling Restriction. Have you tried flying anything yet?

Re: Scale Aerobatics/IMAC for Begginers!

Yes I flew the basic on my own last year and it kinda looked like I was attempting to fly a routine. I worked with Bill Teeter just before Covid. He is the one responsible for my interest in IMAC. Been working the 2024 routine on real flight 8 this winter so I can remember the routine. Once I can get outside, I will start practicing.
