Re: The Boomerang Sprint Club
Hi Ken : Good idea I think to strip everything out and start from scratch and do upgrades over the winter. I went with the Pro link electric retracts and electric brakes
and pretty happy with that. I also think that the Spring Air system would be borderline at best. The underside of the H stab got foil tape and seems to fair well. Every once in a while I do a feel check for temp just after shutdown and when the turbine is doing the auto cool down. |

Altecare stocks the servo covers on this page;
http://www.altecare.com/accessories.htm As for the rest, Peter can probably get them or get ahold of the new Boomerang jets guy in the us. PaulD

Re: The Boomerang Sprint Club
You might get a little extra speed with more thrust and fuel burn but that is one draggy airframe.

Re: The Boomerang Sprint Club
One of our guys has an ATJ140 in his, he got it up to 300kph... So not bad.. LOL. I am not looking for more speed, it's just far less expensive to use what I have then buying another turbine.
In terms of flight time and fuel burn it's not much more then other guys that have smaller turbines. With 30+lbs of thrust you can fly around at 1/3rd - 1/2 power and it still moves along pretty good. |

Re: The Boomerang Sprint Club
Hi Guys
Replaced the Y-harness for the Ailerons with 2 separate servo extensions so I require 2 RCVR channels to run the ailerons. Shrink wrap the connectors. Getting this done was fairly easy using copper phone wire to fish the wire through the wing/fuse going under the wing tube then pulling the wire back with the extension connected to the wire. |

Re: The Boomerang Sprint Club
For fishing wire thru wings and things , I found that a fuel pickup with a string thru the centre and knotted with the pointed end , pointed down or direction of travel , worked well for me. Move the wing or what you are trying to " thread the needle" with , works.
