i know if I have to put one in i will but I really dont like it.

so... thoughts...
Ah... Mattt,

How many full size planes have you seen flying without a pilot?

I don't count RPV's as they are designed to be pilotless but last time I checked an IAC full scale aerobatic event there was a pilot in every aircraft... they don't fly themselves you know.

So what class will you be starting in?
I was thinking that the pilot would be on the ground

if the classes are begginer, inter., advanced, and unlimited I think i would go with Inter. or advanced but maby do the first contest im beginer it I dont get a big plane going by then, proboly just fly my katana 40gs.

If the contests are acctually that close i think ill put one in but i dont know... is there going to be freestyle at some events this year? Thats what i would like to compete in.

The freestyle competition, is one that is offered at most SA contests. Its up to the CD if its offered.

Participation is not required, but rather its done for those who wish to fly it. It really can be a lot of fun to do and watch!

As with the rest of the competition, a pilot and Dashboard are required to avoid a 1% scoring penalty.

The scoring criteria can be found here. Section 18.

Not sure I understand your question... Sorry.

Most results should be on the IMAC website.

Matt,

Try Bob Hudson's Chapter 401 site and look at the results for the 2004 season.

by the looks of the standings 1% seperates some of the postitions. i guess I would have to put in a pilot if i want to get serious with this. I think that im going to fly intermediate. but there diddent seem to be many people in this class and I would like to know why only 4 were in the standings.

Matt

Only 4 people competed in the Intermediate Class in contests held in Ontario last year.

Of those 4, Randy Brown and Nicolas Pinzon both flew in 2 contests each.

There was only 1 contestant in Intermediate in each of those 4 contests.

The other 2 competitors were Americans who each flew in the 1 contest each at Chatham. There were no Ontario competitors at that contest.

Bob

Alright I have a question retaining to the same topic (pilot and panel) what if your plane doesn't have a clear canopy but the canopy is fiberglass and painted a solid colour...say white. Could you get like a pilot and panel airbrushed on the side and be ok or something?

No, sorry Chris. Sportsman class and above must have a clear or tinted canopy, with a realistic pilot and dash. If not, a 1% deduction is made from your overall score.
