Toronto Touring Car Championship

I remember a time when there were 200 entries at the Pacific mall- in September.

I remember a time when i would meet up with the St Catherines guys at prudholms and make the trip up.

I remember a time when during this race, there were 1000 spectators around the track at any given time.

How did this race die?

Why hasnt anyone tried to bring it back?

I am DIEING to do some PLR where there are so many people that its EXCITING.

I am DIEING to do some PLR in TORONTO.

Where did it all go?

They are going well. I just started back to school.. 29 and going for another degree... but this one will be marketable (ME)

anyway, touring dead== i hope not. I tried offroad last year but if im going to drive an hour to a track, its going to be fast cats. I just didnt get excited about it the way i do TC's.

I want to get back to basics. I kinda want to do PLR, with rubber tires..ect..

What ever happened to Hobby Hobby racing? that place was always slammed...

anyway, ill stay tuned.. maybe something will come up..

Hope all of you are well.
Keith

Keith I have to drive at least a hour to do any R/C racing. How is Al doing ? I know he has a couple kids now. Cement bussiness always keeps him so busy.

Touring got way to expensive for the fun it offered. Not sure now if it's that bad with Lipo and brushless. I heard Losi is no longer developing it's touring cars. So I figured it was pretty dead. TL losi team is so small now. I was surprised that Kevin Hebert is running AE now. Even races 1/8 offroad. Anyways later.

yah, the money is in RTR and 1/8th offroad. SO- like any model business- theyre chasing that.

But, the plus side is that they left us with a very decent chassis to play with until the trend swings back to onroad. (it always does

AL, yes, he has two. Clay and Samantha. I havnt seen him since my first daughters 2nd birthday, in may. And we have since had #2, Liliana... who is now 2.5 months old...

Anyway, I am going to do some good ol st catherines this year.. and am tickled by the idea of doing round 1 and 2 of the grand slam at my two favorite tracks... The Gate and the Cat..

As long as 1/8 doesn't get to expensive it will be fine. It cheaper now than it has ever been by a long shot.

Last I checked touring was just way out of hand with everything that was needed to be competitive. Foam was so cheap then it got out of hand. Maybe rubber is better now if you don't need new tires every few runs.

On-road will be some time coming back. I do wish every one best of luck.

I remember looking forward to the TTCC every year... Sad to lose something like this. It was by far the most fun and relaxed race of the year. I'm sure the Much Hobby/MRCC guys could organize it, afterall, it used to be organized by the same guys.

Bring back the TTCC!
