For sale is the giant Avro Arrow.

https://www.rccanada.ca/rccforum/showthread.php?t=84216

- Fiberglass fuselage
- Fiberglass nose cone
- Fiberglass tail cone
- Wings are built, glassed and primed to 320, fitted for std retracts, or leave it fixed.
- Fin is built

This model is really big, fuselage is about 11 feet long.

It would need two very large boxes. One for the fuse, and a 2nd for the big wings & fin.
I've already had a few offers, but the shipping is real difficult.

It will have to be a pick-up.

Toronto, Keele/Bloor area

Anyone interested? , , , lets talk.

Re: Giant Avro Arrow

I now have a whole bunch of emails.

I'm sorry guys, but the shipping is just too much for me to tackle right now.

Hear are the weights so far:

- Fuselage with nose cone & tail cone, about 9 1/2 pounds
- Wings and fin, about 9 pounds
Total, , , , , say, , ,19 pounds for the model.

With the huge crating it might hit 50-75 pounds ready to ship

Re: Giant Avro Arrow

I forgot to mention something.

There is a documentary being filmed on the construction of this Arrow.
There have been 3 filming sessions already.

I would put your name in with film producer.
I would hope that the buyer would not be camera shy, and continue with the filming process.

To my knowledge, this Arrow is about the largest ever built, and there are only 4 that were made.

Re: Giant Avro Arrow

Well, , , , I'm cry'in here guys, , ,

After 2 years of work, , , and a few thousand bucks later, , , ,

Fast sale priced, , , the Giant Arrow has been tentatively sold, and I'm even delivering it.

Thanks to all those that sent emails, but I just can't get into all the crating that's involved.

It's going to a great guy that alot of us already know.

Only took 2 days to sell. The Avro Arrow will always be a Canadian Icon.
Next, , , , to decide the fate of the moulds.

Re: Giant Avro Arrow

Mike,
Keep the molds, you spent so much time on them to destroy them would be a shame. They are your molds, it doesn't mean you have to make airplanes for anyone else, but it would be nice to have that option down the road should you decide you want another one. You said it yourself, after 2 years work, and several thousand dollars, make sure you keep the opportunity to replace this airplane for yourself!
Jeremy
ps, who bought it?

Re: Giant Avro Arrow

The molds are bigger than the Arrow (stating the obvious) where do you store 12-14 foot long molds?
