Wow, I feel for the guys that organized, promoted and were going to maiden their planes.

It will be interesting to hear the reasoning from the MAAC rep.

I think this is a sad day for MAAC, They will surely take a hit from many pilots for their narrow minded approach to this. Last year proved a great success and it was closed to the public for safety. Only approved pilots with planes are in attendance and as Brad pointed out there's no better way for some one to get the plane checked out for a safe maiden flight. Shame on you MAAC.

I'd like to hear both sides of this but it seems a little short-sighted on MAAC's side.

. The event does not comply with MAAC Safety Code Number 1.

I shall not operate a Model in competition or in the presence of spectators until it has been proven airworthy and/or safely operational by a previous successful test.

Above is the reason the event was shot down.

On its own, I understand the rule.

But we tried to work with MAAC to make it safe and compliant.
And to create a closed and safe environment for these flights to happen.

Seems like a step backwards to me. Thanks to all the people that put in so much time and effort and shame on MAAC for not being willing to reach some kind of compromise give the controlled environment they were trying to create for this event. And people wonder why the membership seems to be aging and shrinking!!

Might be something to bring up in Toledo where you have MAAC reps cornered. I know I'm going to ask for some clarification.

WEAK WEAK WEAK..............What a better place to do it with others to help and check things out like Brad said............people need to understand the more eyes that look at stuff the better......I work in a shop and you can look at somthing and be sure its perfect then someone else looks and see's something that could be done diff or that maybe you missed......I feel they are making a big mistake with there des.....Thanks to all that set it up.....guys you rock.....sorry it got shut down..................

This is ludicrous, all the pilots safely maidening them together is worse then random all over. Come on MAAC!

Were all in Toledo and this image shows our displeasure.
