lol...
Nope..this was totaly my fault...
That "gas lift - break drop" thing got me confused and I met one of the doubles upside down..right on the vrest of the jump...
Drove the shock tower forward into the gas tank, the shock screw is "in" the gas tank (part of it anyway), and thshock tower is toast..cracked...
I'm a little worried about the motor, cuz it died instanly I think..but we will see...hopefully I didn't blow a crank case...

Ouch... But the important question is, did you complete at least a lap this time????

I think I might have a set of shock towers as spares, I'll take a look tonight and let you know. As for gas tank, I have the stock SS one if you need it, I think after the uniflow mod, it shouldn't cause you any trouble.

PB

P.s. How do the TVP's look?

Had great fun yesterday even thoug i don' think i made it once around the lap without "shortcuts"... the twin is still a work in progress, not all the kinks are worked out... the linkage is my problem right now and the brakes too... i'm rebuilding the shocks with some heavier oil and softer springs... i found out i had a bent shaft as well...

hey spond... i noticed you had the dual brakes... are you haveing any problems... i first got the envy kevlar ones from the sc store but the kevlar separated from the pad on those then i replaced the pads with the hpi set before yesterday they didn't even make it through the "3 laps" ... i made sure they were stuck on good too... i cleaned the pads up and stuck on the pads and applied pressure... i was using the envy disks though so that might have been the problem... i'm gonna go today and get the complete hpi set and see what happens...

thanks to everyone for their advice, it was a learning experience for sure...

ya I have the HPI duals..lovem...

I usually put the pads on, and then put them in a vice and sqeeze them for a bit while I go on to other things on the truck..then when I am ready to put them on the truck, i'll take them out of the vise or clamp..

I have done this on two different sets and it has worked great. The last set lasted about 4 gallons..but at that point, the discs were worn, and the pads had worn away as well...but that's what they are supposed to do...

That truck is abeast...I think it may be too much for a track thou..but give it another go..lower it a little, and harden the suspension and it may work out well...BUT...I can speak from experience..that even a single picco is handfull on that track...but it is a blast...
