Question Question about ESC/Motor Temperature

I recently upgraded my TT01E, three of the changes are,

1. Motor: Orion 19T Modified + Head Sink
2. Pinion: 21T.
3. Metal Motor Mount.

I am still using the stock ESC (trying to save a few bulks). Now the car drifts so much better, without a doubt. But here are some observations I find disturbing.

1. At 1/2 throttle all the way, ESC gets really hot in just a few minutes, approximately 80 celsius degree.
2. Motor stays approximately at 60 ~ 70 celsius degree.

Are they overheating? I am planing to add a heat sink to the ESC, and a PC case fan on the transponder mount to blow away heat from both the ESC and the motor.

Re: Question about ESC/Motor Temperature

That's pretty hot. Keep in mind that the TEU-101BK is only rated for 23t stock, you're running a 19t modified.

Advice? Get a better ESC that's rated for your motor. The Tazer would work for around $50.

Thanks. What about the temperature of the motor, is that in an OK range?
For the ESC, it's interesting though although 101BK is only rated for 23T stock, it doesn't cut out in a 20-minute run (1/2 throttle). If it's extremely hot, then the safety would have jumped in, I imagine.

In order to save a few bulks for now, I might just stick with the stock ESC until it's burned.
