Torture a lipo!!
I'm quite dilagent in mantaining my lipo batts. But now I'm in the market for a new one. I'm sure we all at some point or another discharge our batts a bit past what i guess is a safe voltage. Now the question is.
I'm looking at two diffrent batterys. Flight power and Air thunder. I've herd that the Air thunder is a very durable pack, and that you can discharge it quite low with out doing to much dammage. I have herd nothing about the FP battery? Can anyone give me some insight on this. I have looked for some info on this but have had no luck. I'm not asking this question so as i can drain the batt's, but for the longivity of ("my Precious")

Re: Torture a lipo!!
What are you going to be using the battery in? I've found the air thunders to be a fair bit heavier then other packs... Where a 2200 mah Thunder power pack is 174 grams, the 2200 air thunder is 206 (higher then advertised).
That being said, when installed on my 450SE, I found the pack to be too heavy. I'm actually only flying my 20C align packs now, as they only weigh 149 grams! This turns out to be a total of 9 % of the total weight of my helicopter! Although I cannot draw quite as many amps with the 20C pack, it is still without a doubt a better pack to fly due to the weight difference. Again, what machine are you wanting to power?

Re: Torture a lipo!!
Yes Carlyle,
I agree on the weight issue with the Air Thunder. But with a breeze, I find that it helps the T Rex from " ballooning". The Align did seem very peppy at the beginning. However, it seems to be the only brand that has ever puffed on me even with balance charging. Cassat |

Re: Torture a lipo!!
Hummm. I find that strange... Between a friend of mine, and I, we are now running well over 20 of these 20C 2100 mah align packs, and out of all of them, only one has had a problem... It just so happens that particular pack has over 300 flights on it.
Could you be thinking of the 22C align packs? As I know they are popular for puffing.

Yes, mine was the 22 C from Align. I didn't know they had the other one. Where are you getting your good ones from?

Re: Torture a lipo!!
A friend of mine is getting them from an Align rep off RunRyder. I will get his contact information for you if you want...

Re: Torture a lipo!!
well i bit the bullett and picked up a flight power evo 25.
Can i use the balance adapter from my 3s thunder power battery? it has the black end. The fp also has the black end so i'm told. I have the adapter that goes from the black end to the white end. I checked out tower hobbies and in the decription in states that you can use that adapter... any suggestions??
