I wonder what the quality of this bigone will be like? Its due in August, even comes with pilot and glass cowl. Cloth covering and lists for 599 US.
Might the the home for my BME 102 so I can aerotow the bigger gliders

Vmar has some not bad ARF's and their quality is ok at the best of time. I have one of there trainers and I am happy with it. There is a fella at our club with one not a trainer and he loves the quality of his.
Let us know how you feel about it once it gets in your hands and you have had a chance to fly.

Would that be a 1/4 scale or 1/3 scale.I have been looking around for a 1/3 scale super cub for a while.Can't wait to have a look!

At 157" span its larger than 1/3 scale. I have not ordered one yet, its that or I scratch build a clipped Taylorcraft. They usually have a good display at the HobbyShow, I would want to check it out before forking out any dough Hacker also has a large Decathlon, i think its around 1200CDN.

If you are interested in the "Best" ARF , 1/4 Scale, Super Cub I have ever seen, check out the new one from Dave Patrick. It is beautiful and the price is not bad either. (Wish I could afford it )

I've got the 72" and 84" VMar Beaver. My impression of these kits - in one word "garbage." The quality is very poor. The ECS covering looks good at a distance, but up close is in fact wrinkled and misaligned. Don’t try to reshrink the covering - it won't work. The wood in these ARFs is ??? mystery wood glued together, in some areas, using hot glue or something similar. I can't comment on the flying qualities, as they are not yet assembled. My recommendation is that unless you can physically inspect the kit before you buy it - don't. The low price makes VMar kits very desirable, but you get what you pay for. Type vmar in the search engine of your computer and have a look at what other people are saying. I think you'll find generally negative comments. In our club Gary W, two years ago, bought the VMar .90 Harvard II. On its maiden flight, following gentle tough down, he ripped out the main landing gear. I haven't seen him fly the aircraft since.

Oh, why did I buy two VMar kits if the quality is so poor? I was able to pick them up on EBay, dirt-cheap. I intend to strip them down, reglue or repair weak areas and then cover them with a quality heat shrink material.

I have to agree with midair, I ended up with a vmar .40 size harvard through a trade, and you can tell that it was built in a sweat shop. The wood is a mystery and it does look like it was hot glued togeather, and the covering is the worst I've ever seen. From personal experience, don't let ANYTHING touch it or you're going to have to repair ( my stab touched the wing in transport and the covering split from leading edge to trailing edge ) . Would I recomend a vmar kit to anyone ? NO !!!
