OS 50SX

Hello Everyone

I just read the post below about the Thunder Tiger 61. I have a brand new OS 50SX in my Cox Ultimate. I noticed right away that the engine was noisy when it was running ( and when you hand spun it too). It sounded to me like a bad bearing in the engine. I ran it for about 6 tanks now and the noise seems to be lessening. I could not stand it so I bought another engine and replaced it the other day. I decided to take a look in this engine to see if I could repair it because its the best runner that I own! when I removed the back plate i spun it over while looking at the bearing and there was no noise?????? I just happened to look at the back plate and could clearly see that the crank and connecting rod have been rubbing the back plate slightly and this was the noise that I was hearing in the engine! I took my trusty diamond file to the back plate and discovered that the plate was not perfectly flat. I did not want to remove too much material at this point before asking if anyone else has run into this problem? This is a bearing engine and there is ZERO play on the crank? Any suggestions? Thanks,

Tom
