Sorry I never posted photos of this model, John, the builder has over 150 flights loged in his book with this one.
Still runs and fly's like it was new. Thanks again John M

Ontario Re: pica spit

Hi:
Wow...some good info here.
Yes I have one of the Pica Spitfire kits. It is on the build list, but I would like to see a build thread on this one, before I start my build. The instructions for some of the older kits are not the best sometimes. I would like to see some detail on the, landing gear, retracts used with these kits. There are lots of other questions about the way this build will go. I hope to use electric or srevo drive retracts and a 15 cc gas engine. I have had this kit for some time and I have a few other scale planes on the board for this year's build list.

Thanks to all.

Re: pica spit

I test flew the small one for a guy. It was typical spitfire in the air, very smooth flying. Without flaps, it does have a very flat glide. I remember just skimming the tree tops to avoid landing long. I found that the speed has to be just right, holding just the right amount of elevator, to be able to 3 point it. They do like to nose over if you land a bit fast on the wheels. The one I flew didn't have retracts. I'd recommend flaps, for sure. I'm currently building the 1/5 scale for myself. It has always been my dream plane in this hobby and I'm *finally* getting to build one after 23+ years...
