It's mode 2 and heli based but just like most if not all do both heli and planes nowadays !
So answer is yes and yes ! And brand new !

The warranty on Futaba products is to the original purchaser from an authorized dealer for a period of one year. Buying a brand new very sophisticated radio second hand so to speak, without the warranty is a concern.
Assuming you are the original purchaser where does the warranty stand?

Hi, is this the SGA-airplane or SGH-heli? Did it come with any receiver? When did you buy the unit?

OP has all that info in the original posting. It's the heli model (14SGH), so the only real difference is a smooth throttle stick and it defaults to the heli mode software. He also has indicated it includes the receiver which for this radio would be the R7008SB.
