Re: Kingtech turbines are awesome!
It's unreasonable to think that any company has a 100% satisfaction rating. What's really sad is somebody on here is excited about their engine and how they've been treated and others have to come ---- all over it in a somewhat seemingly backhanded effort to discredit the company. There is not a single company out there that hasn't had lemons or bad designs. The fact of the matter is, there are so many praise and hate threads out there that if you believe all you read, every company is the best and the worst all at once. There are many turbine owners who when their engine is working perfectly have never ever had an issue but on first problem it turns into a gigantic piece of crap that's never worked right. When the manufacture makes it right it's suddenly the greatest manufacture ever. In 15 years of flying turbines there is only one manufacture I can honestly say I have never heard of problems from, doesn't mean there hasn't been, but I've never seen Internet slagging. I'll stick with them.

Being new to Jets ; I am just a little confused why one manufacturer says use 2T synthetic oil , others say to use their brand , other give 2 or three choices and so forth... Same with fuel, some say Jet A or kerosene and others include diesel ( although the others are adding diesel to the list of usable fuels). The confusing part is they all run on the same principles but some have problems and others don't. A good explanation would be good. Anybody willing ? Yes, I know there will some who disagree but would be nice to hear all opinions and" no flaming" please . Thanks Len |

Re: Kingtech turbines are awesome!
Most if not all manufacturers are ok with diesel use. The only oil I wouldn't use in any of the new turbines is aeroshell 500 , there have been issues with coking in combustion chambers. They all come with manuals and have recommendations of which oil and fuel are recommended. Follow the recommendations of the manufacturer you are flying. It's not rocket science, as I stated earlier NONE are PERFECT , out of the box and following the manual one would expect it to run without a call to the manufacturer or distributor that's my opinion. If you are ok with it not performing out of the box that's your choice. The best service from any manufacturer is one you don't need ,buy it ,install it , fly it. Every turbine I have ever owned has run out of the box and they all haven't been the same brand.
I guess my expectations are too high to pay my money and expect it to work , go figure And Jeremy I wasnt poopooing anyone I was just asking for clarification on what they deemed great service and why, that's all. And really know one has answered that question.

Re: Kingtech turbines are awesome!
Kevin,
What I'm saying is that even those manufactures that you have had that "run out of the box" have had issues. One very popular and long running company brought an engine out back in the early 2000's that was a very large engine for the time. It had every issue under the sun, they never did fix all of those issues until a complete redesign of the engine. Another manufacture that I owned multiple engines from had quite a few issues, I managed to avoid most of the issues but not all. The dealer of those engines provided excellent service, dealing direct with the manufacture was a pita. What stands out as good service from Kingtech is those that I personally know that have had kingtech engines, IF there was a problem there was no disputing the issue, it was sent in, it was corrected, and the problem was gone. Not saying it's been that way for everyone but that has been experience from the people I know with them. Some of these issues that arise aren't even the manufactures issue, but they deal with it, while the public berates them. I was told of a Kingtech that a particular person had problems with. It was made out to me by the 3rd party that the engine was a lemon. When I spoke to the owner of the engine, it was an EGT probe that was bad. Kingtech does not manufacture their own EGT probe, it's the same probe used by multiple engine companies. The story was blown out of proportion somewhere down the line. Kingtech however did their job fully and made everything right. What does kill me is the companies that have a customer send an engine back a half dozen times before finally saying "we'll give you a new engine but just tell everyone that everything was done professionally". I've seen these letters from one company in particular where the deal is, we'll replace your warrantied engine that we can't fix but only if you give us a glowing review. That's bs through and through. |

Re: Kingtech turbines are awesome!
Ok ok... This is getting kinda out of hand. Sorry... I just wanted to say that I think kingtech engines work very well and yes, all turbines have issues at times but I was trying to convey that if you are not sure of buying a newer turbine companies turbine due to if they can supply, maintain and repair/replace if needed that they are amazing to deal with. I know ALL mfg's have had issues and I would say kingtech has the best service and you are safe to try for yourself without worry...
Andrew

Re: Kingtech turbines are awesome!
I'm not saying they aren't a good turbine or there service was not up to par just trying to clarify what constituted the outstanding service that's all. I've seen some that perform flawlessly , and a few that didn't. That's all. No flaming just asking questions that's all.
