just took my hotshot tunnel out of mothballs & need some advice on the k&b 3.5 lower end. is there an alternate lube i can use for the drive cable (gearlube or grease?) how is the rear motor bearing lubed(is the bearing sealed inside the motor?) is there anything locally available to replace the drive cable sleeve? i,ve got a spare parts motor but the prop adaptor is notched where it fits into the lower end plates. the one on the boat threads in? which is the newer design? can i get parts from mecoa for these older motors( 8 plus years old) any input appreciated...thanks..rob m

Re: k&b 3.5 lower end

Been a while, but the rear bearing is open or not caged if I recall. Lithium grease works well in the flex drive. The outer sleeve is just plastic sleeve , I suppose you could snoop at a good cycling shop and heat it to the proper curve.
