LARGE electric brushless motors
Gentlemen;
I havnt found another post on this so pleas advise if already discussed. Im looking for LARGE electric morots that can produce the power equivalent to a 50 to 100 cc engine. approx 5 to 10 hp. I have a heavy model I want to power with electric twins. I will be flying up near the 35 KG limit I dont see much out there over 1 hp range... Can anybody turn me on to a manufacturer or perhaps an industrial solution for a plane this size Thanks. |

Hi David,
Great Planes has a 50 and 65cc electric equivalent. Hacker also has motors that are good for 50 through 100cc range Never pay again for live sex! | Hot girls doing naughty stuff for free! | Chat for free!

Re: LARGE electric brushless motors
Off the top of my head, THIS is the only one that comes to mind. I'm sure there must be others, though.

Re: LARGE electric brushless motors
Hacker A60, A80 and A100.
These are the best deal for the money. Anything cheaper I have owned didn't last. Anything more expensive didn't get me anything more. Had an A60 and it ran like a top.

Re: LARGE electric brushless motors
Hi David:
Just yesterday there was a post on RCC from a fellow that was selling a relatively new large AXI, for 40-50cc type aircraft, and Castle Creations 110 Ice. The cost for the package was around $350.00, which is pretty darn good. I don't know if it’s already sold, but you might want to have a look at the electric for sale section. Good luck. Peter

Re: LARGE electric brushless motors
look at the hobbyking line of large outrunners, there are motors that will generate 4500 to 6000 watts.

Re: LARGE electric brushless motors
I had a lot of fun with this set-up!!!! On 12S, this was almost too much power for this plane! Definitely DA85 power!

Re: LARGE electric brushless motors
Thanks guys. Lots of good ideas here.
The Hackers definately look promising. Im actually setting up a twin arrangement for an 70 lb aircraft UAV. spares and scalable power options are important. Im investigating having foam wing cores cut, and am looking for the best way to integrate spars into the wing and also have a sleeved tube for mounting. does anybody have pics / plans of a large removable cantalevered wing setup? We're looking at some fairly high flight stresses at 35lbs / wing with g-loads in the + /- 5 range. 5 ft span per wing half. Any thoughts? |

Re: LARGE electric brushless motors
Here's a pic of me and my Yak2....not electric, but the Giant Scale Mustang right behind me is electric, and has an onboard sound system that plays the sounds of a RR Merlin engine, on start up, at full power and (coolest) is the shut down sound.
