Your both very welcome! I think I am as excited as you guys seeing you checking out the new engines. That now makes four of us in the Flying Tigers who will be flying IMAC with DA50's. Maybe if you wouldn't mind telling us, what planes are you putting the engines in?

I will be powering a Midwest 27% Scale Extra 300 XS with mine. Hoping to build it light keeping it around the 15 - 16 lb range. Should be a nice combo. I may break it in installing it on the GP 1/3 scale Pitts Special.

I believe Marc is already flying his on his DP 330L. RC Guy has his DA50 in the same model plane using a Belia 20 X 10 3 bladed prop with excellent results. Tonnes of power.

So Ron and Brian, what plane you putting your DA's in?

Hey guys, I'm sure Gary would get one for you to! Just check first with him how many dollars you have to give him in return!

I will be putting mine in my 27% 80" Midwest Extra as well. Mine is the older version. (Flat Tail) bud I may modify it.

My DA 50 will be going into a Wildhare 28% Edge 540 ARF. It is a new design just out in the last few months with an introductory price of $399 US. I am looking forward to receiving it in the next week or so. Hopefully it will be around 15.5 to 16.5 lbs with a span of 84 ".

I notice that they are now advertising two Extra's in this size again for $399 US which is a bargain.
Take a look here.

I just check out the web site Brian for the Wild Hare Extra 300. Man, I wish I had have see these before I purchased a "kit" By the time I do all the building and purchase of all the goodies to go with it, would have been cheeper to buy this ARF!

I think we're going to see more and more planes built around the 50cc size gas engines in future. Seems to be an increasingly popular size! Would be nice to have a 1/3 scale or 40% but the cost is prohibitive for me anyway right now. I remember though when I though a .60 size was way too big for me and lookie now. So who really knows these days?

Yeah Gary, I remember saying to myself back in about 1990 when I saw a guy starting a .60 powered king Kobra - "thats way to big of an engine"... when the largest I had was a .40

Now I have a 60cc, 66cc, 69cc, and even owned/flew a Brison 104cc twin for a summer.

52cc seems small now!
