I recieved this email today:

"As you have heard by now MAAC has appointed Brain Hewitt as the Southwest
Zone Director.

A Petition has been circulated to call for a Special Zone Meeting to elect a
Zone Director voted in by the members.
Forest City Flyers have agreed to have the election at their May 8 meeting,
at Saunder's Secondary School in London Ontario at 7:30PM.

I am planning to run for this position. I have attached a resume, and
several different proxy forms for you to choice from if you wish.

I will be leaving for Top Gun on April 21 and returning on May 1.

IF you have any question please email me or call either before April 21 or
after May 1.

Palmer Johnson
palmerjohnson@cogeoc.ca
519-977-0172"

Bryan is someone that can help put our zone back together again. Palmer has done many good things for our club and MAAC over the years. At any other point in time I would be glad to support him. Now is the time for everyone to step back and let Bryan do his job.

Good Lord!...

Now there's a vote of confidence for you!

The poor guy (Bryan) hasn't even had the job for a month and now the same old group of 'Good Old Boys' (Who KNOW WHAT"S RIGHT FOR THE SWZ!) are trying to get him replaced - WHY??

Because they (the select few)
A) Know better,
B) Don't like him,
C) Don't Like MAAC telling them how to run their own little world.

Now would be a good time for the silent majority of the SWZ to voice their opinion(s) and tell these select few malcontents to sit down and be quiet.

Or do you silent types like to be grouped with such people?

IMHO

My Reply to Palmer

Palmer Bryan Hewitt has volunteered to take over the contentious position of Zone Director that was abandoned at the last minute by Mr. Smith leaving us with little or no representation at the AGM. He is neutral to both sides something you cannot claim to be. His claim is for the best interest in MAAC and all of the members of the Zone. You on the other hand have said many times in emails and on the forums publicly that you have no use for any of the board of MAAC and I believe publicly you stated "They could kiss your ass." You have also stated many times you would never work with the board. At the club level you have tried to drive wedges among friends in your attempt to support Chuck. You have told the president of our club you could give 2 shits about our club your only interest and mission was to get Chuck reinstated. The latest stunt of yours of threatening to try and get someone fired by reporting to their employer their being on the internet while on company time is your all time low. So tell us all Palmer what is your real purpose. What kind of leadership can we expect from someone who resorts to these tactics? Some example for our junior members. I don't see any good for MAAC in any of your words or actions. If you do not care as you say 2 shits for the club then why are you attempting to use the members in such a careless and callous manner?

Palmer in my opinion you would make the saddest example of a zone director to date.

Completely pathetic...

Quoting Mr Johnson, from Dec 1st 2005.

https://www.rccanada.ca/bb/viewtopic....c+board#142808

"Well dealing --- as little as I have to the MAAC board has turned me TOTAL OFF to THEM!!!

I have LOST all interest to work with ANY of the BOARD.
I will continue as ELCECT by my ZONE to be a Deputy Zone Dircetor.
I will continue to support clubs and events in MY zone."

I wish all of you in the SW Zone the best of luck.

zone director

I think the interested zone directors should tell us what they plan on acomplishing if elected and how they will get the results.

No small task. Good luck.

Those 'Good Ol' Boys' exist in most if not all clubs whether its RC, golf, or even the old ladies knitting club.

I don't follow MAAC politics, all I can say is I'm happy not to be in the SW zone after reading all of this.

....actually, no Jeff................. it is not, if you climbed inside their heads.

You are thinking like a modeller Jeff. You are trying to apply the logic of fun and comradery that most of us know is the main reason for being in this hobby.

The only explanation has to be that some cling to the hobby because it provides them with a feeling of importance that they mustn't be able to find in their regular lives. There seems to be a need to have someone patting them on the back and telling them how valuable they are and an intense need to be "right" about everything? Kinda pathetic.

It really is time to let it go.
