It gives me great pleasure to introduce your new Jet Committee chairman for the upcoming year - Kelly Williams from Delta B.C.

Kelly has a long and impressive list of credentials in the turbine world which will serve him well in his new position. Kelly has been active in turbines for a long time and is well known and respected by his peers in Western Canada and the Northwestern United States.

Kelly is an excellent person for this position....please give him your full support!

Wayne Beasley
(retiring) Jet Committee Chairman

Great choice! Kelly, you have my support as a member of the committee.

Thanks for stepping up and filling the position. I said it before, but Wayne did a superb job (thanks again!).

Re: Please welcome your new Jet Committee Chairman

Thanks guys,

Hope I can live up to the standard that Wayne's set for the last 2 years. I know everyone appreciated the tasks you drove to completion in that time. Thanks Wayne.

I should clarify one thing to everyone up front. I agreed to take this role on a condition... With 2 young kids and a relatively new job, I requested that Paul Dries be my Deputy Chairman, such that he can substitute for me if time becomes an issue. Much appreciated Paul...

Moving forward on 2010, our friends to the South are into some interesting times with the FAA and all types of R/C aircraft, but with a pretty big magnifying glass on turbines specifically. North of the boarder our section of the hobby is definitely evolving. With lower financial barriers to introduction and a maturing used equipment market, we are seeing more interest and visibility into the jet community. We'll need to maintain the safe practices we have today (and improve if deemed necessary), build on the quality of mentoring available, and be proactive in general to ensure the success of turbine modelling in Canada for the long term. With the quality of representation on today's committee from across Canada, I think we'll be in good shape.

Thanks again for the support. Hope to see you all at the various rallies across BC and Alberta this season!

Kelly
