Midwest Starduster
I know this kit has been terminated and I have had a hard time trying to find out how the plane actually looks. All I can find is the attached photo using the google image search.
Is this the Midwest Starduster in the photo? If so, the wings looks pretty low to me. People says it is a good second plane, what makes it different from the UltraSport then? |

No. that's not the Starduster.
The Starduster looks like the Sig 4-star .40. This is a pic of the Sig. The starduster is basically the same. Ronm

Why not go with the Sig 4star.......its one of the best second planes and typical Sig quality too.........also avail in 60 and 120 sizes......I built the 120 size and ran a Ryobi in it as a first gasser.Sold it to Cec,he put his own Ryobi in it ,and has been raving about it ever since........happier than a puppy with two peters........

I heard of a man that was born with 5 peters! They say his pants fit him like a glove!

Actually, I'm also considering the Sig Kavalier. The reason I'm taking a look at the Midwest Starduster idea is because nony is suggesting it on an earlier thread. I read from newsgroup that the Kavalier is a bit of a challenge to build because it is a very old kit (yes my current plane, i.e. the trainer, is an ARF ).
I've already checked out the 4* 40 but I do not like the look of the plane. Thanks for the suggestion anyway. |

Its up to you but the cavalier is much less forgiving than the 4 40 and is not an ideal 2nd plane IMO........

Fodder, looks a lot better after the mod! Thanks for the idea!
Now I'm taking a closer look at the 4* 60. I failed to see any difference between this plane and the UltraSport (which I have a brand new kit kicking around, untouched, but so many people have been telling me to stay away from the UltraSport as my second plane on another thread, so I'm taking their advice). On the 4* 60, I can't see any stall tips, the wings are as low as the UltraSport and there is no obvious dihedral. Now I'm wondering why so many people are telling me to stay away from UltraSport. I believe there's got to be some major difference. Can somebody point it out for me? Thanks a lot! |
