l am just getting into the electric planes, so l purchased a kit off the site, its a super cub, the required motor is a speed 400 with a mpiacc347 gear drive and a 10 amp speed control witha 6 cell mah batt, what l was wondering is if anyone can tell me what set up l can use with brushless that gives me better all around performance??? and possible what batt is best and speed control.
Thanks...

Re: help with electric

What is the all up weight going to be? That will give you an idea how large of a brushless to buy, and what the recommended lipo cell count, and diameter/pitch prop you're going to turn. If you plan on using lipos.

Re: help with electric

Without knowing the exact model, but based on 21oz. AUW, here's my guess:

motor - Hacker A20-20l, Dualsky XM2826-15T, or E-flite Park 400 920kV, or similar....

ESC - Any 25-35 Amp ESC (brushless, of course)

2cell Lipo 1300-1800 mAh for gentle circle flying. 3cell Lipo, probably not needed due to extra weight, but will provide extra power in case you need it, plus you could use it for future aerobatic planes with this same setup later.

Prop - probably a 10x6 APC SlowFly should keep Amp draw within decent parameters. May need to experiment a bit based on the battery you select, but I would start there.

My .02$
