From what i understood
I only get the Flight SIm if i buy the complete package
But the down side is the lower level controller
That is correct..you only get the flight sim if you get the whole package. It's 460$ for the whole package. (plane, radio, engine, flight sim, ect)

If you would rather have a higher level controler, I would recommend just keeping the nexstar controler until you outgrow your trainer, then sell your trainer radio with the sim and invest in some higher end gear and a modern simulator. Their's lots of good radios out there at some good prices. The NexStar package is a great bargain at 460$....if you wanted a full on modern sim with a higher level controler your gonna pay atleast 400$ for just that alone...
The Price difference between The kit and mixing my own choice of Radio Plane and Engine is only $180.00

A good sim is so important. A few members in your club should be able to loan you G2 or G3. You can get FMS free online or order the E Sky FMS package for about 25.00 You get FMS but also the Transmitter for your PC USB or serial. Not the best sim but the Radio works and you can crash a lot with no expense.

Regards

Brian
I have FMS and PRE Flight
Not the best-looking graphics I’ve seen but it does the trick i guess

Must be easier with a controller then using a keyboard

Thank you all for the advice

One great thing i'm starting to notice is
This hobby is a heck of a lot cheaper then paintball
(Try explaining the NEED for a $2500 Marker to your wife)
LOL

Let us know about this thought in a couple of years.

I thought it was cheap too, after giving up microsprint racing, but once your hooked it doesn't matter what your doing your going to buy a lot of stuff, whether you need it or not. I love racing but now i think i like flying just as much.

If you can pull that off, then go for it. Their's no substitution for good gear.

I've managed to take some (poor) pics of my Kadet after searching for my (rotten) digital camera :P

I'll upload them tomorrow from work.

The last one.

I forgot to mention a few things. The engine (as I hope you can see) shows staining, the flap switch is broken on the transmitter, and just ahead of the tail on both sides there is a small patch. These were all there when I bought it, so I dont know the reasons for any of them.

I appologise for the terrible quality of the photos, I tried to make up for it with quantity. I had about ten lights on in the room and it still wasnt enough for that rotten camera of mine.

If you're interested we can discuss a price. If not, anyone else need a good trainer set-up?

Ben

Bens set up looks pretty good to me. If you already have FMS than just buy a coble from Tmos RC off of Ebay. If I remember right I payed $40 with shipping. The only thing to remember is you probably will not fly your trainer for more than 1 year so don't break the bank on the airframe spend your money on the motor and transmitter because they can be used on your next plane.
