Re: Scarborough, meets 2010 season, lets get it rolling
Here is also another suggestion for a short fast technical track, The pictures does not do any justice as it was newly paved last year 2009.
Its a open to public parking and its so rare i have ever seen someone in this area. I pass by on a daily basis on my way to work, I have ran there is a 1/10 scale car and it was ample of room to open it up. This could be a temp place that is more centred and within Scarborough itself. There are a few locations in that area to get a bite to eat and drinks etc.... Location: Pharmacy and McNicoll Cheers Rob ALL WE NEED TO DO NOW IS VOTE ON A SPOT FOR THE FIRST MEET AND INTRO....

Re: Scarborough, meets 2010 season, lets get it rolling
Lol, Pharcyed, lets hope your friends will be available so we have more people. (i should get my bus ticket soon if we are meeting on April 2nd LOL) N e ways. For our first meet, i have changed my mine and Pharmacy and McNicoll would be a good temp place, (closer compared to Woodbine and Hwy 7). Time preference is pretty any time during the day (sadly, i got nothing to do except for this and study for final exams)
As for intro, Im not too sure what Rob means by 'INTRO' lol. |

Re: Scarborough, meets 2010 season, lets get it rolling
In addition, i need some suggestion. Whats a good store to get Tamiya Parts (cheap and 'good' services). Ive been to Advance Hobbies, they have very nice staff but the price is pretty high. Asking this cuz im planning on doing some upgrades with my ta05 lol.

Re: Scarborough, meets 2010 season, lets get it rolling
All depends on what you need and how far your willing to travel.
you could always pay cash with Advance and chat with the owner for some assistance as long as you buy there often and in large qty.... Other than that, I always stick with my one and only place... AJ Hobbies. Arden and I go way back and well not only is service great but once you get in and start volume orders then you may be able to negotiate price too. Best thing to do is grab your prices from other Canadian retailers and use this as a ref point if your stores are too high... You can talk pricing if you have some proof in your hands.... Its not always about pricing, its more about who has what in stock at the time you need it.. But if you are to place a large qty of pieces on order, I suggest that you go through Arden at Advance hobbies... You can use me as a ref. Just make sure to pay cash and let him know that I sent you to him cause he would assist you. Again It may take some time so don't expect any awesome deals on your first purchase, You have to build a constant order system with him.... Cheers Ro http://www.ajhobbies.net/

Re: Scarborough, meets 2010 season, lets get it rolling
LOL
Im Rob Dyer aka Nitroheli Born UK, lived in Qc for 24 years been in TO for the past 10 work for a awesome motorsports company only ran nitro rc vehicles from helis, planes to bikes. have no electric cars but may have to buy one for you guys... 1/8 scale class is my fav. no points for second place and second place is first place looser... lol looking forward to hitting the track with you guys but may be a little hard cause i only have nitro cars.... Ill call Arden at AJ to see if he has a sprint 2 flux.. I vote for Pharmacy and Mc Nicoll for the friday meet, there are many locations within that close area if we need move around.. Keep in mind that Friday everything will be closed so if there are newly paved locations ( shops ) lets hear about them.. Rob
