I like baking them, works well for me, except I put the oven on 400, leave it on for 10-15 mins with the tires in, then turn it off.

ah...come on alex! it doesn't smell that bad but it is the best way to remove the tires and not damage the rims/tires or foams

I tend to agree with Chewy - the only guranteed way to remove them without destroying the foam, the rim or the tire is to use a new, sharp hobby knife and cut as close to the rim as you possibly can. When you break the bead, get in there with a screwdriver and gently pry up the bead to give it some stretch and you will be able to make very close cuts to the rim.
I find that after removing the tire this way, you can easily clean up the beads by using either the sanding drum or the grinding stone bits from a dremel to carefully smooth out the little ridges - it works mint! For 1/8 buggy rims, i use a nice little metal grinding bit to clean the lip on the rim, followed by sandpaper to get rid of it all, or for truggy rims i have to use a narrow, flat grinding stone to get in the groove to clean them up, followed again, by sandpaper to finish it up.
I bought a used tire lot last winter and I have tried the boiling method with limited success. I found that certain glues will let go in boiling water, and certain glues won't. Then theres the inbetween ones that sort of let go and you try to remove the tire and you rip the bead - that sucks! Also, if you're in the position where you're trying to save the foams, the acetone and boiling methods will screw them up for you. They're also VERY messy techniques.
