Some of the work I've seen (google/youtube) is incredible. Absolutely incredible! Guess I'll be looking for a pilot for those flights eh? Do you know any that are 1/6 scale? I'd need to know their dimensions before hand so I can sew up a little flight suit. Hahahaha.

Joking aside, definitely some food for thought though. And when I ask this question, it's in NO WAY intented to be taken as being full of myself, but a general question - with these team scale competitions, why not have the builder/pilot one and the same?

Cheers!
Mark.

Re: How much scale is too much scale?

"Team scale" is a class within the scale competition world where I understand that the intent was to get those amazing builders (who perhaps can't fly very well) together with a hotshot pilot (who can't or won't build). That is not the case with Graeme Mears by the way as he does compete as a pilot himself with other aircraft (notably Piper Supercubs). There are also those guys who have a ton of money and are willing to commission guys like Graeme to build a masterpiece that they will fly.
